I went for a trip to a cottage and wanted a solar panel to help keep my phone, Switch and battery on the boat topped up when I was out on the dock. The Aimtom 80W solar panel looked like it had everything I needed, it has a USB A, USB C and 18V output on the charge controller on the back of the unit. It folds up nicely into a thin case with a carry handle, about the same size as my laptop. When you fold out the panels, it has legs at the back that help you stand the panel up to face the sun. My friends were surprised it was so easy to use, just point it at the sun, check the light is on telling you it is producing power, then plug in your device.
There are a wide variety of cables that come with the panel, including battery leads, laptop tips, MC-4 connector and various DC cables to plug it into a power bank. Just add your USB cables for devices and you are set!
I brought the solar panel along with me to a photo shoot. I first recognized the green color and fabric. A professional look with just enough orange pop to accentuate the solar panel. The glossy black clips to keep the panel closed bring the color scheme together.
Being able to charge my phone straight from the usb port in the back is very very handy. very manageable to tote along at my side by the handle. Quick and easy to unfold for set up, collapse and re-fold to put away. Four velcro stands in the back to prop the panels up tuck away to be able to keep the Aimtom flush when putting away. I’m very happy with the Aimtom solar panel and I look forward to taking it out along with me to more explorations and photo shoots!
